Needless to say, the 2021-22 season has been unpredictable for Kyrie Irving, the Nets star whose decision to skip the vaccine forced him to sit out the first third of the current campaign. Still, Nike has quietly released the signature Kyrie Infinity shoe to the public, while news of an upcoming Kyrie 7 “Alternate Weatherman” continues to keep Kyrie fans on their toes.
Inspired by a particular thematic take on teammate Kevin Durant’s fourth signature sneaker, the newly revamped pair takes on a varied look from its predecessor. The composite mesh upper retains its layered layout that reveals a series of radial patterns on the forefoot and profiles. The dark green and black color combination, however, plays a secondary role to the heat map-reminiscent print on the collar and heel. The soles of Irving’s seventh primary Swoosh-backed shoe borrow the pattern’s vibrant crimson and neon green tones, with much of the midsole and outsole opting for the “Volt”-like hue. Additionally, the multi-directional tread also features color blocking inspired by the weather map.
Enjoy official images of the pair below, and we’ll let you know if a Nike.com the launch is soon, because at this rate a drop by the end of 2021 seems unlikely.
